Valentina Rodionenco "The first major competition of the next season will be the Russian championship"

    The Russian site stadium.ru reports that Russia head coach Valentina Rodionenco stated in one of her latest interviews that the first major competition of the next year will be the Russian National Championship in Penza.

     "The first major tournament of the next year will be the National Championship in March in the town of Penza" - said Rodionenko. - "From there we can select the team for the European Championship, which will be held in May in Sofia."

    Head coach also told how the leading Russian gymnasts are preparing for the next season. "On November the 22 we will end the current training session and the athletes will go home" - said Rodionenko. - "On 4th of  December everyone will return to the Round Lake for the last training session of in this year which will end on the 20th of December."

       Speaking about gymnast, Rodionenco confirmed that all key gymnasts are back on training along with the rest of the team. All gymnasts are working right now with their coaches, upgrading their routines. "Viktoria Komova recovered only after her illness. As for the rest of our top athletes, all of them are practically healthy. Anastasia Grishina fully healed her back injury that prevented her to compete on the World Championships in Belgium. All gymnasts are now training but not at full strength. After all this season it's almost over. We will start training of maximum by the start of the next season. Athletes along with their coaches are upgrading their elements and also their routines."
