Valentina Rodionenco thought over the Russian performance in Elite Gym Massilia

        The Elite Gym Massilia competition, ended Sunday November the 17th and Russia went home with 5 medals. Valentina Rodionenco reflects on Russia performance there clarifying why they haven't send any of the strongest gymnasts in Marssilia. during her last interview for stadium.ru. "We went to meet the organizers and we sent there some of the girls from the youth team"  - said Rodionenko. "Ana Rodionova who also defend the honour of Russia in the World Champioship in Antwerp, competed in France, but her performance was not very good since she haven't prepare that much for it."

"Why do we have decided not to send any of the strongest gymnasts there? Our interest right now is not to battle with Romania and the United States. Our main rivals are our own  country representatives" - said Rodionenko.

Ekaterina Kramarenko won the bronze medal in Elite Gym Gala Individual

Ekaterina Kramarenko finished on the 3rd position with a total score of 54.825 in Elite Gym Gala Individual scoring. Romania's Larisa Iordache won the gold medal with a total score of 57.525 while the silver was awarded to Romania most promising junior Andreea Munteanu 55.675

Russia win the silver medal on Elite Gym Massilia team competition.

On Elite Gym Massilia team competition, Russia team won the silver medal with a total score of  164.400 points. The team competition was won by Romania with a total score 167.300. Great Britain gymnasts finished on the 3rd place with 162.750.

Russian gymnasts to compete in Elite Gym Massilia

     This weekend France will hold the 4^th edition the Elite Gym Massilia, competition which will reunite gymnasts from France, Canada, Great Britain, Germany, Romania and Russia.

      The Russians will be represented by the 2008 Olympian Ecaterina Kramarenco, Evgenia Shelgynova – junior champion whit Russia and AA junior champion, Alla Sosnitskaya and Anna Rodionova, who competed in Antwerp.

      The competition seems a very interesting one and a good opportunity for the youngest gymnasts to gain experience along with consecrated seniors like Larisa Iordache, Ecaterina Kramarenco or Rebecca Downie.

Elite Gym Massilia is actually based on two competition. The Saturday Master will reunite all 5 teams and other 4 from the Open Massilia (a competition dedicated to gymnasts over the age of 13). Each team will line up 4 gymnasts, the final scoring been based on the best 3 out of 4 system. Sunday will be the Top Massilia competition, apparatus finals.
